The Jamaican Bobsled team didn't do so well in Sochi
America's favorite thing about bobsled is the Jamaican bobsled team, but they didn't exactly have a great showing.
The Jamaican bobsled team are arguably the two most popular people in Sochi. As we wrote in our big ol' luge/bobsled/skeleton preview, there's every reason to love them. They raised a ton of money on the internet!
They're getting Tinder love from snowboarder girls!
It seems so far that not many Olympians use tinder.... Just wanna match with the Jamaican bobsled team ๐- Rebecca Possum Torr (@PossumTorr) February 2, 2014
They lost their luggage! Gotta root for those guys!
They had a dance-off with Lolo Jones!
Okay okay okay okay. Today was the finals of the two-man bobsled competition. How did the sled of Winston Watts and Marvin Dixon do?

Okay, so they didn't medal...

Okay, they didn't finish in the top 10...

okay now we're getting sad
It turns out the Jamaicans finished 29th of 30, not good enough to make the final run, which only featured the top 20 sleds. In fact, the only sled to finish below the Jamaicans was Serbia's, which posted better times than the Jamaicans in their first two runs before failing to finish their third.
So the Jamaicans did about as poorly as they possibly could've. But let's not naysay the Jamaicans: It's amazing that they qualified, and in an Olympiad that often seems inaccessible, a parade of rich European people in weird sports we don't know, the Jamaican bobsled team is one of the best feel-good stories imaginable.
It didn't work out this time, but we look forward to talking about the Jamaican bobsled team feeling the rhythm and rhyme in South Korea in four years.
