
How sad. Iconic TV actor Efrem Zimbalist Jr. died at his home yesterday, May 2. He was 95 years old.
Efrem Zimbalist Jr., one of the most beloved actors of the 1950s, '60s and '70s, died on Friday, May 2 at his home in Solvang, California at the age of 95. Efrem was one of the most popular TV stars of his time. He starred in ABC's popular show 77 Sunset Strip from 1958-1964. In the TV series, Efrem played a private investigator named Stuart Bailey who lived in Los Angeles. He also starred in The FBI, one of the most popular television shows of the 60s and 70s.
On top of starring as those unforgettable characters, Efrem also made memorable TV appearances in Maverick and Hawaiian Eye. The beloved actor also acted in multiple movie roles. Efrem's last role was in the 2008 movie The Delivery.
Efrem's daughter Stephanie told our sister site that her father loved every moment of his life until his passing. "We are heartbroken to announce the passing into peace of our beloved father, Efrem Zimbalist Jr., today at his Solvang, Calif. ranch. A devout Christian, he actively enjoyed his life to the last day, showering love on his extended family, playing golf, and visiting with close friends," Stephanie says.
Efrem will always be remembered for his iconic roles on TV and movie screens. Our thoughts are with Efrem's friends and family during this very difficult time.
